Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Sagure ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Application.

2. License Grant

Sagure grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application on your personal computer for document search and indexing purposes.

3. Description of Service

Sagure is a desktop application that:

• Indexes PDF and Word documents stored on your local device
• Enables full-text search across indexed documents
• Processes and stores all data locally on your device
• Does not transmit any data to external servers
• Only reads your documents - does NOT modify, delete, or add any files on your computer
• Creates its own separate database files for search indexes

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the Application only for lawful purposes
• Only index and search documents you have the legal right to access
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application
• Not use the Application to process confidential or sensitive documents belonging to others without authorization

5. Data Storage and Privacy

• All document indexing is performed locally on your device
• The Application creates a local database to store search indexes
• No document content or personal information is transmitted externally
• You are responsible for backing up your data
• Uninstalling the Application may delete locally stored indexes

6. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Application remain with the developer. These Terms do not grant you any rights to trademarks, service marks, or logos.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or completeness of search results

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, documents, or search indexes
• Inaccurate search results
• Damages resulting from use or inability to use the Application
• Any data loss or corruption that may occur during use of the Application
• Loss or damage to your original documents (though the Application only reads and does not modify them)

9. Document Processing Accuracy

While Sagure strives to provide accurate document indexing and search results:

• Search results may not capture all instances of search terms
• PDF and Word document parsing may not be 100% accurate
• The Application is not suitable for mission-critical or legal discovery purposes
• You should verify important search results manually

10. Third-Party Components

The Application may use third-party libraries and components, each subject to their own licenses. These components include but are not limited to:

• Flutter framework
• PDF processing libraries
• Word document processing libraries

11. Updates and Modifications

The developer reserves the right to:

• Modify, update, or discontinue the Application at any time
• Change these Terms of Service with notice
• Add or remove features

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.

12. System Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring your system meets the Application's requirements:

• Windows 10 or later
• Sufficient disk space for document indexing
• Appropriate permissions to access documents

13. Termination

These Terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use and destroy all copies of the Application.

14. Export Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations in your use of the Application.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding the Application and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
